Every second year Poecilia Scandinavia have a international livebearer weekend about livebearing fishes. This is the 5th one:

  • Scandinavias biggest auction of livebearing fishes
  • Internationallly known speakers

May 3rd-5th 2013 At Preikestolen Fjellstue, near Stavanger, Norway. Nearest Airport: Stavanger


Friday may 3rd:
16.00-18.00 Registration and allocation of rooms

18.00-19.00 Light Meal for those, who don´t participate in the evening-excursion

17.00-21.00 Walking excursion 1 to Pulpit Rock (or Preikestolen in Norwegian) at Lysefjorden, Norway – about two hours from our hotel. Including a light meal on the rock. You have to register for this trip when you make your reservation for the weekend. Tour-leader: Rune Evjeberg

Saturday 4th:
05.00-09.00 Walking excursion 2 to Pulpit Rock (or Preikenstolen in Norwegian) at Lysefjorden, Norway. Including breakfast on the rock. You have to register for this trip when you make your reservation for the weekend. Tour-leader: Rune Evjeberg

08.00-10.00 Breakfast for people who don´t participate in the morning trip to Pulpit Rock.

10.00-10.15 Welcome

10.15-10.30 Rune Evjeberg and Kai Qvist: ”Presentation of a new book about Chiapas, Mexico from Freshwater Biotopes”

10.30-10.45 Coffee Break

10.45-11.30: Malin Lindqust, secretary of Poecilia Scandinavia: ”Apropos Pulpit Rock. Different kind of stones in the aquariums – with demonstrations showing some examples”

11.30-11.45 Coffee Break

11.45-12.30 Behavioural Biologist Josefine Bohr Brask from the University of Copenhagen: "Sexual conflict in the animal kingdom: How strategic female guppies avoid eager males"

12.30-13.45 Lunch

13.45-14.30 Michael Köck, curator at ”Haus de Meeres, Aqua and Terra Zoo”, Vienna, Austria: ”The GWG (Goodeid Working Group) and how to keep livebearers outdoors during summer in Europe”

14.30-15.00 Coffee Break and sale of raffle tickets

15.00-15.45 Auction part 1

15.45-16.00 Coffee Break

16.00-16.45 Auction part 2

16.45-17.00 Coffee Break

17.00-17.45 Auction part 3

17.45-18.00 Coffee Break

18.00-19.00 Drawing of the raffle and settlement of the auction account for those leaving Saturday

19.00-20.00 Dinner

20.00-?? Social gathering - including drawing of the raffle sold during and after dinner.

Sunday 5th:
08.00-10.00 Breakfast and final settlement of accounts.

After that: Excursion for the city of Stavanger for those who will leave later in the day. You have to register for this trip when you make your reservation for the weekend. Tour-leader: Rune Evjeberg

lol, come on Alan.
i'll give the skiffia a miss mate, had them several times and never managed to keep them more than 6 months. tried different temps, tanks, everything. just don't seem to do well with me.
