In the past few weeks I have had fry from Allotoca dugesi, Allotoca goslinei, Ameca splendens, Xenotoca eiseni Granja Sahuaripa, Skiffia multipunctata La Luz, Characodon Los Pinos, Characodon 27 de Noviembre, Zoogoneticus quitzeoensis La Luz and Skiffia lermae.  A few drops were only 2 - 4 fry, but I'll take what I can get.

Most of the goodeids you mentioned, I have never kept or have kept but never got to breed for me.  You must have an awesome fish house! How long do you think it will take you to fill up an additional 50 tanks?

well, been quiet for me. just had a few more fry from the quitzoensis, loads of fry from the poecilia chica (lol),more gold formosa, more betta simplex, channoides and edithae.
those ctenopoma are nice fish, but will get to 8", eat a lot, and the colour tends to fade with age. never bred these myself, not sure about the market for them. but good luck with them.

You have a good collision of goodeids you got some that I haven’t had for a long time.
The extra tanks I have are mostly for my goodeids  I would like to keep all species of them.

It won't take long to fill up tanks the way my fish breed lol.

The Lermae can be difficult to get established but they are well worth the time and effort.

with my water being so hard i use rain water.i collect it after the rain has been going for 10 mins or more, then heat and air it for several hours. after testing mine, i get ph, 5.5, zeo nitrite, nitrate and ammonia, and almost zero hardness.
ideal for the very soft water bettas, but i can then add  bit of tap water to bring it up to 6 or 6.5 if need be.
if i run out, i use my friends tap water, he lives several miles from me and is on a different supply, his ph is 6 and very soft. then i add humaquat and almond leaves to bring the ph down to what i need. it's the carrying of the drums kills melol

Hi Guys,

Things have been a bit quiet for me at work; so I have spent quite a bit of time getting ontop of the fish house once and for all. I have been spring cleaning the tanks and getting rid of the guddle. I have had more Psx bimaculata and I now have around 200-300 Xiphophorus kallmanni (so many I have stopped counting). The fish I bought back from Guatemala are starting to settle in; the Psx anzuetoi, Gambusia luma and Gambusia sexradiata seem to be gravid and I have had fry from the Phallichthys fairweatheri.

I am trying out the Walstad method on some of my tanks and early signs seem to be quite promising.

Gary just watch the rain water as you have a lot of planes fly directly over you house, they may tant the water, so just watch it.
