I've recently bought 3 fish (2 females and a male) which were labelled up as Pamphoricthys Araguaiensis at our regular aquatic shop in Durham.  The male looks like pictures of Endler's Livebearer which Derek Lambert kindly sent to me after I emailed him for help in identification (although the colouration on on my fish is not so vivid as the pictures of Endler's I have seen).  They are very busy fish, and look like half-sized guppies (the females very much so).  I have only found a sparse reference to Pamphoricthys Araguaiensis on Fishbase, and while I would not be at all disappointed if these guys were Endler's, I would love to know if anyone's got any info on Pamphoricthys Araguaiensis so I could make a definite decision on who my new additions are!
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

This is a species of livebearer.

The reason you could not find it in the search engines is because of the spelling.

Pamphorichthys araguaiensis

I've done a couple of searches for you but can only find a couple of topics.

Google Search

Fishbase.org

I'll go have a dig about to see what else i can find.

all i can tell you is they come from South America: Araguaia basin, Goiás, Brazil. i can find no picture of them and little else seems available. i live near Durham so will pop along and look, if they still have some.
john dawes book, livebearing fishes has them as a subgenus of poecilia, he names poecilia hasemani, heterandria, hollandi and minor, but no araguaiensis. i will keep looking.
