Hi Keith,

How are the fighters coming on?

My girlfriend is getting interested in fish and wants some fighters, so I thought I would ask.

Duncan.

SLOW BUT SURE.
IT SEEMS DIFFERENT FINNAGE TYPES GROW AT DIFFERENT RATES.
SO MY CHOCHOLATE SUPERFELTAS ARE GROWING STEADY AND ARE AT ABOUT THE 1"-1 1/4" AND THE CROWNTAILS WHICH ARE 4 WEEKS ARE AT ABOUT 1/2" AND STARTING TO COLOUR UP.
SO WILL HAVE SOME FOR SALE BUT MIGHT BE TO LATE TO POST THIS SIDE OF WINTER.

Well, she hasn't set her tank up yet.

She is coming to the guppy show in Derby and wants the tank ready for that. I am trying to talk her into coming to Hayling Island, but we will have to see.

well, not quite Alan lol, but have about 2 dozen males all jarred up and the females are all in a tank together, seem to be ok, some will be up for sale as soon as they weather is warmer.they are not an easy fish to breed as they often start to eat the eggs before it is advised to remove the male, some 4-8 days after spawning.however, i have 4 more broods growing on, plakats (short fin fighter), halfmoon, crowntails (my own bred stock) and some betta imbelis (dwarf chilli) a man made imbelis.just about to start breeding a pair of metallic plakats, fingers crossed they do well.

they have such great character. i wish i could keep all my young as they are fantastic now and too good to sell off, but i have no room to keep them all, so some will have to go. but at least i have more growing up to replace them. even had a suprise from my halfmoons, they produced 3 fry with double tails. so they will be my next breeding project, when they are old enough.

I do hope we are not losing all of you to the Betta hobby guys.

We will have to launch an aggressive takeover of their website if many more of you go across to the other side. LOL
