Hi Guys.
my son and i have spread our wings alittle further with the purchase of several fighting fish
they are  super delta, crowntails and halfmoons.
we have had a tank specialy made to house them all together but in dividers complete with a central filtration system.
we have only had them since tuesday and already one male is building a nest.
once they have settled in i will attempt to breed them in my fishouse. i will keep you informed.
below is the male crowntail and halfmoon.

yes i have the matching females.
i got them from a guy in the UK. kg bettas. he sold out his entire shipment in 2 days.
i looked at importing but the postage almost doubles the price.
kg bettas imports and charges almost the same price as the exporter, if that makes sense?
i am looking at aquiring a few more when next shipment arrives.

Hi Guys.
just thought i would let you know our pair of crowntail fighters have spawned this evening.
they have been kept in the same tank but seperated for 3 days now and the male has been furiously building a nest.
i intended to let the female into the males domain tomorrow, but she jumped the partition, some 3 inches above waterline[:-bigeyes2].
it looks as though there maybe 50+ eggs.
will let you know how they progress over the next 48 or so hours.
i am now franticly collecting coffee jars in anticipation of the new additions to my fishouse.[:-crazy]

well, eggs hatched. male was being a good dad and watching them. they hatched on thursday evening.
male frantically trying to keep them in the nest. all was going well. went into fishouse on saturday morning and, well, he had ate all the fry. not one left. but never mind. will try again in a week or so. i am trying to spawn the chocholate superdaltas. lets hope i have more luck this time.

Good luck [:)]

They get better the more they do.

Had a loverly Cambodian pair gave mr 30 babys on first spawning was happy.
Gave then to a local shop to try, ho love to breed then and he produced over 1000 fish from them..... never seen any thing like it.

have now spawned a pair of chocholate superdeltas. fry are now 7 days old. looks like only 15 or so survived yet another onslaught by the male. crunch time when they take first gulp of air.
keeping light on above tank to try and keep air temp in tank up although i use space heating.

You'll have no probs space heating, it's only if the air is cooler  it would kill them.

Hope they turn out like the parents [:)]

well, fry are now 5-6 weeks old and starting to take shape.
there are about 45-50. not sure where they all came from as the original count was about 15 or so.
about half are twice the size of the others so i am wondering if these are the males, or do some just grow faster than others.

will post some photos asap.
if anyone is interested i think the next shipment is around the 5th july. just keep an eye on kevins website www.kgbettas.co.uk
