Guess not..... reading some stuff on google sayes that their quite easy to spawn...

How ever they heed a large tank. This tank was 6' long and the way they dasshed up and down they need the space.
The dashing is only the male chaseing the female, when spawning there quite still, thats  when cichlids dash in to eat the eggs
As only 7-10 eggs layes are layed at a time, these little chance to keeping them unless their on their own.

So did you have 30 pairs dropping eggs, or did one pair drop 300 eggs? I am a little confused.

ahh we need to solve this confusion lol. alan meant 7-10 eggs pour out every (minute/second?) they do it but it lasts until they keep doin it until she has laid all her eggs. for the little more confused say a imaginary pregnant livebearer giving birth but instead of 1 fry coming out of the vent ,5-7 fry come out at the same time until all the frys has come out. geddit?

Right, thanks guys. I understand now.

2,000-3,000 in groups of around 7, every 2 minutes; that is about 15 hours of courtship and nibbling at a time!!

Don't tell Zoe, Alan. Might raise her expectations. LOL.
