Hello,

in a previous thread I presented pictures of livebearers that have been identified as

  Phalloceros caudimaculatus,

or, at least, as

  Phalloceros n. sp.

Now a Brazilian specialist examined some material and identified it as

Phallotorynus victoriae.

Another Brazilian specialist alerted, however, that this could be an identification mistake as the individuals I sent where rather small and perhaps not fully mature.

So I now wonder:

Are there any pictures in the web that illustrate living and typically coloured

Phallotorynus victoriae?

  best wishes,   Thomas.

Thanks´, don´t hesitate to post any further photos, if you find them?

What´s a good source for livebeaerer identification? I tried to get the Livebearer Atlas, but it was already out of print!

Hi Dourado, I would suggest the Aqualog Livebearers and Halfbeaks, it has pictures of most species and has regular updates.

I don't think any other livebearer book is really as comprehensive.
